Raymond Supports Community Enhancement Projects
The Raymond Corporation, in conjunction with the Greene Chamber of Commerce, is participating in a community beautification program. This program includes seasonal and holiday projects to further enhance and beautify the downtown area of Greene, as well as garner pride in the community.
GREENE, N.Y. — The Raymond Corporation, in conjunction with the Greene Chamber of Commerce, is participating in a community beautification program. This program includes seasonal and holiday projects to further enhance and beautify the downtown area of Greene, as well as garner pride in the community.
The beautification plan includes the placement of American flags around downtown Greene for Independence Day on July 4, 2012, and for Labor Day on Sept. 3, 2012. Raymond has participated in this program as part of its continuous effort to support the community.
“Raymond’s support for the community of Greene is deeply rooted in our history,” says Steve VanNostrand, vice president of human resources at Raymond. “Our commitment started when the founder of Raymond, George Raymond Sr., helped form the Greene Rotary Club. This initiative was continued by George Raymond Jr. with his position as president of the Greene school board during the 1950s and ’60s. Raymond is very proud to support the efforts of the more than 80 local organizations that help enrich our community today.”
In June, Raymond also participated in the 16th annual Greene Chamber of Commerce Captain & Crew golf tournament to help support the chamber’s community efforts. During this time, Raymond ran an internal contest where four of its employees won the chance to participate in the tournament. In total, 21 teams from businesses in Chenango County participated.
