US Cold Storage Utilizes Raymond Cold Storage Warehouse Solutions

United States Cold Storage Inc., a refrigerated warehouse operations, needed a solution for their network of cold-storage warehouses more than 190 million cubic feet of space in a harsh, cold environment.

The company provides cold-storage warehousing for a complete range of perishable food products, pharmaceuticals and other items, and had just opened two new facilities in Wilmington, Ill., and Lebanon, Ind.

USCS worked with Arbor Material Handling Inc., a Raymond Solutions and Support Center, to select the lift truck for U.S. Cold Storage's new facilities. The combined lift trucks fleet totaled 71 trucks - including reach trucks, sit-down and stand-up counterbalanced lift trucks, order pickers and pallet trucks.

In addition, each reach truck was equipped with the Raymond ThermaKit™ system to keep operators more comfortable when maneuvering in frigid temperatures.

USCS and the Raymond lift trucks efficiently handle more than 100 million pounds per month while running as many as 16 to 18 hours per day, seven days a week, the the demanding refrigerated environments.

Associated Material Handling Inc. and Allied Handling Equipment Co. service U.S. Cold Storage’s facilities in Lebanon and Wilmington, respectively, through a comprehensive service agreement.
